Murphy's Mobile Welding is owned and operated by Robert Murphy Jr. Robert has 27 years welding experience.
He has passed the A.W.S. certification for pipe welding twice over the last 25 years and holds a 6G welding certification.
Robert began welding in high school. He took welding shop classes at Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama and went on to complete certification classes at Columbus Technical College. He later furthered his training at West Georgia Technical College in LaGrange, Georgia.
Robert welded pipe for PHC Mechanical Contractors in Columbus, Georgia and also worked for Pasco Steel in Columbus for a year before going into the United States Navy.
Robert served in the United States Navy as a hull technician and steelworker. He was stationed on a repair ship for two years and welded on U.S. Navy ships in the Indian Ocean, anchored off the coast of Saudi Arabia. He was a steelworker in the Navy Seabees for two years and ran a steelworker shop in Okanawa, Japan.
For the past 19 years Robert has worked as a Maintenance Team Leader for Interface Flooring in Troup County, Georgia where welding and fabrication work have been his top job priorities.
